This is a long one, but worth it for anyone who doubts auto repair businesses. First and foremost my fiancé and I cannot stress how amazing the employees at Tom Sparks are. We had received service at a big chain company where everything that could go wrong would. They did the normal predatory practice of tacking on services and repairs when my fiance went in, but a different quote when I took the car in. We eventually went for a “simple” oil leak repair (bad choice) and 3 weeks afterwards we took it back to that shop because it was still leaking oil. The return quote turned into $4000+ worth of “repairs” after they had touched it. We were at our wits end when someone recommended reaching out to Tom Sparks. I called in and spoke to (I believe) Bob in the service center. While I never got to speak to Bob in person he was nothing but wonderful. When addressing these issues he assured me that they would do a thorough assessment to make sure that the previous shop was correct in their diagnosis of our issues. He had confirmed that there were issues with the specific part, and even then went above and beyond to address small issues we were unaware of. Not once in speaking with Bob did I feel that he was treating us like “just another customer”, he was clear and concise with their diagnosis, and assured me that they would do everything they could to help us. Not only was their pricing MUCH lower than the big chain, but they treated us like real people and were extremely helpful. IM NOT DONE YET AND NEITHER WERE THEY! The service team got the part in and went to work. I soon received a call stating that while they were preparing to replace the part ($1500 repair give or take), they noticed that our leak could’ve been from a simple O-Ring on that part. Bob asked me if it was okay that they tackled the cheaper options first, as it could’ve been the fix to our issues. Naturally I was ecstatic as we are soon getting married and money is tight. The repair came out to $400, and EVERYTHING is now working perfectly. (Other issues popped up because of the previous shop, so it wasn’t just an O-ring replacement). Long story short, I cannot stress enough how great everyone was and is, at Tom Sparks. I firmly believe that they are a diamond in the rough when it comes to auto repair shops. They take care of their customers and I will only trust them with my fiancé’s vehicle from this point forward. I just want to say thank you so much to everyone there, you have no idea how much that meant to us, and how grateful we are. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES!

The service department is the best of the best. I will always trust Bob. I live an hour and a half away, and I will make the drive for repairs. They are so transparent and will NEVER push for a repair you don’t need. They quoted a costly transmission repair for me and actually recommended I pass on the repair due to the cars age. They prioritized my needs over a 2k repair. $40 for the inspection and they cleaned my floor mats. Just above and beyond!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting/working with their salesman Dan Gailey. I was a little apprehensive prior to going into Tom Sparks, mainly because I don’t buy cars from dealerships. However, I had also received numerous reviews from family and friends telling me about their own excellent experience from Tom Sparks. I had all those preconceived notions about shady car dealerships and was happy that this place, and Dan, were the opposite of what people think of when they think of car dealerships. I never felt any sort of pressure from Dan to buy my vehicle. Instead, Dan laid out the numbers right away. There were no hidden fees. Dan also presents himself in a very respectful manner. I felt like if I would have walked away and not purchased my vehicle, Dan would’ve just shook my hand, maybe asked me to grab a beer, and tell me to have a great weekend. I will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a vehicle from a car dealership where you feel like the people there are normal and easy to work with.

So when it came time for my sister and I to buy cars, TS was the obvious choice. I've owned a Pontiac G6 from here and my husband and I just bought our second Chevy Traverse from here. Ruben has sold us all 3 of these vehicles and he takes great care of us every time. Buying a car from him is no hassle, no salesly tricks, and completely honest and up front. He's fantastic to work with! As far as maintenance, I have brought my cars here for oil changes since I was a teenager, and I now use them for all car needs. They always take great care of the cars. They are honest about what needs to be fixed and what can wait. I know they would never let my kids or I out on the road in something that wasn't 100% safe. Bob and Marc run a great shop and Ryan does quality work on the vehicles. We lived out of state for a short bit and I'm not lying when I say I cried over having to find new mechanics. There is just something about the peace of mind that comes with knowing you can trust the guys handling your car. We recently had a bigger scale issue with a van we had to buy while living out of state (we are back now) and they took care of everything start to finish. While out of state, I once waited on an oil change until I was back in IL for a visit just so I could go back to TS. If you want to feel like more than just another customer and you like to come somewhere where every one knows your name (and your kids, your parents, your Grandma...) this is the place for you! My kids have grown up waiting on that infamous car couch and will continue to do so! They are more than a business, Tom Spark's employees have become friends.

These guys are awesome! I drove up from Delray Beach Florida to DeKalb over Christmas New Year's and I needed two front tires when I got there. They sold me the Goodyear Assurance and that is the sweetest tire for bumps that I've ever driven. I've been driving Michelin and Bridgestone's for the past 40 years for their good mileage. If I get decent miles on these Goodyear's I'm never going back! And what's more, those guys took my Ford Explorer in at 8 in the morning January 2 to check out what I thought was a transmission fluid leak. They made sure I was good for the ride home and they only charged me 20 bucks! Good Lord here in South Florida it would have been $120 just to put it up on the lift!
